Ailith - Chapter 14

Change to Ailith's POV momentarily:

"So, when's the date of execution?" a voice asked from outside my cell. It wasn't the king's or Cedric's, but I still remembered it from somewhere. I couldn't quite place it though.

"It's still being debated due to my son's sensitivity on the topic, but we are thinking in two week's time." the king responded.

"Why on earth would my proud nephew be sensitive about some lowly prisoner?!" the familiar voice demanded, making the sense of familiarity intensify.

"Rumour has it, that he fell in love with her."

"Well, that simply can't do. It's good that she's being executed. It'll allow him to focus on his betrothed more."

"That's why we're planning on sending him out to see Evelyn the day the prisoner is going to be executed. That or have Evelyn visit to distract him." Not only did it hurt that I was now some nameless entity, but also that I mightn't even have the possibility of Cedric being the last thing I see before I die...

"Let's go and see her shall we?" the familiar voice suggested. And they entered.

My jaw dropped open. The man, Cedric's uncle. Was the boss of the Armani. Suddenly it all made sense, then everything went black.
